The illiterate American

I never saw a reporter ask Trump “When was America great that you want to bring us back to?” Nope! Four years and no journalist that I know of was curious what Trump’s flagship slogan actually means. We still don’t know. Of course Trump didn’t know which would have been nice for voters to see in 2016.
How about: What made you think Russia hackers were listening when you invited them to find Clinton’s emails? Which news service would have rewarded her?

I watch CNN for USA news on TV. Cuz they don’t lie. But I have many criticisms of CNN. One thread that runs thru is their misuse of words and poor powers of expression. Abuse of language; to me a crime. This is not on purpose. They are illiterate uneducated TV personalities playing journalist. There’s no authoritative intellectual in the bunch. I feel like they’re yelling at us rather than informing us. Just now I see a CNN banner “Growing number of Republicans oppose impeachment.” Only a dozen or so Republicans supported impeachment to begin with and wasn’t aware that any of them had changed their mind. CNN puts this kind of stupid statement up often, producing the illusion that pooh-poohing Trump’s high crimes is a valid position. There is no debate. Trump’s guilty. The question is whether Republicans will do the right thing according to the law…or not.
And nobody mentions that if he’s not convicted Trump gets a daily Top Secret briefing which he could easily sell to others.
Very poor communication skills and lack of knowledge are epidemic.

Occasionally they have an experienced educated thinking person on and they interview them as if they’re a Miss America contestant. What a disappointment and failure of journalism. They never ask the right questions or, worse, listen to the answers before blurting out their next query.

Or how about. Ten times a day Trump would say “People are saying….a lot of people say… everybody says…” Who? What people? Since you don’t believe the intelligence services and FBI where are you getting this information?

Acosta, WH CNN reporter named his book “Enemy of the People”… but I never heard him once say to Trump “Hey you called me the enemy of the people. I’m not the enemy of the people you are.”

I don’t get it.
